The real thing.....

for a dark Friday afternoon.
After looking through yesterday's post I
realised how sad it was to be looking
for an appropriate image of candles for
Advent, when really I should have
been sorting the real thing for right here,
right now.  So......

As it was a very dark afternoon the candles were
lit straightaway and the fire too:

You may just be able to see a coffee pot and milk
pan sitting on top of the stove.
All in all a very cosy afternoon.
There was even a nap and a DVD:
Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day.

A good way to round off a birthday week.

Thank you Vivienne - I definitely felt better for having made Friday a 'cosy' day.

oh dear, every time I see a stove it throws me into confusion, stove or open fire dearie me what am I to do have to make a decision soon!

What a lovely picture that is

I've had both Maypole - and I prefer the stove. Mainly because it's actually warmer - and if you want the pleasure of looking at the open fire sometimes, you can always leave the door open for a while.
Let me know how you get on.

(ps - have you been to Stanegate in Leamington? It's in the old chimney there and they have a great range.)

Husband would LOVE a stove and I also like them but we have a cast iron fireplace, in place where we used to have an open fire. Difficult decision, what make is your stove Pam? Lovely to be able to have a pan or kettle on the top keeping warm I have to say.

No, I haven't been to that place.

Ours is an Aarow stove and I love it. The thing with stoves is that the stove itself heats up too. And just think about that pot of coffee bubbling on the stove then toasting teacakes with a toasting fork!
If you get the chance take alook at Stanegate - they have a few lit too.
