I had never actually tasted stollen until a couple
of weeks ago - I know, what was I thinking! - but
now that I have, it's time to try making some
of my own.
There are plenty of recipes out there (and all
different of course) but when I called into
here this morning, this little pack caught
my eye. And also the fact that it was half price.
Seemed silly to leave it sitting there
while I searched for all the ingredients myself.
As it's sooo very cold here today, baking
is the ideal occupation.

Yummy but another one of those festive cakes where I scoff the lot! Let us know how it turns out x
That's the thing though - will there be enough people around to share it with me? Such a shame if I had to eat it all myself!
Will let you know tomorrow if it's tasty or not.
Hope you're keeping cosy,

Make it, hide it then scoff the lot!!! x
That's what you have to do when all your family is around - but there is just (usually) the two of us now.
Still, might not be a bad idea if it's as tasty as it looks.....
Hope you're onto the silver thread by now Pipany. Keep warm.

Fortunately I am the only one that likes Stollen in our house...such a shame ;-)
Let us know how it turns out.
Hi Pam, there's nothing quite like winter baking, a cosy sweet smelling kitchen with a delicious prize at the end. x
How lucky are you then Serenata?! Hope it's still on your shopping/baking list even though the rest aren't keen?

Hi Lily - there was also a cherry and almond cake baking along this afternoon - a very nice smell drifting through the house now.
I love the description of the 'delicious prize' at the end.

Nothing like a bit of baking with the oven going to keep the kitchen warm and creating a wonderful aroma too. :)

Am tempted to do some more today Vivienne - bright blue skies but so cold and windy!
Have decided to go out for coffee and cake instead this afternoon.
